Jake Morgan-Scharhon
Jake Morgan-Scharhon (he/him) is a Pacific Northwest based transgender writer, video editor, and actor. As a writer, Jake's focus is in creating community through story. A 2024 Artist Trust Fellowship Award fellow, Jake is eager to continue development on his feature film screenplay, “Top”, which is inspired by his experience receiving top surgery over the pandemic. Jake's feature screenplay, “Rules For Drowning”, was named an Academy Nicholl Fellowship quarterfinalist, and selected for Gotham’s (IFP) emerging narrative program. Multifaceted, as a video editor, Jake has edited television shows for HGTV, Magnolia, A&E, VH1, Travel Channel, and the DIY Network. Originally trained as an actor, Jake is most known for his work as Chance and Wendy Hale in Guy Maddin's internationally acclaimed feature, “Brand Upon The Brain!”, and the Academy Award winning short, “God of Love”. His theater credits include work with Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Seattle Repertory Theatre, and Obie award winner Half Straddle. Jake enjoys watching the Mets with his wife, and taking his little dog, Kino, for walks in the woods. Jake is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts.
Danielle Morgan-Scharhon
Danielle Morgan-Scharhon (she/they) began her filmmaking journey 25 years ago when she picked up a super8 camera and started creating short films by editing in camera or with a splicer and tape. Her short film Les Nanas won several awards and was distributed internationally. She went on to earn a master’s degree in film at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where she was awarded a Graduate Assistant position in Editing and a Hollywood Foreign Press Award for her thesis film, DEADBEAT. As a post production professional, Danielle has collaborated with numerous award-winning filmmakers including Guy Maddin, Laura Poitras and Lynn Shelton. She had the pleasure of editing with Robert Pietri on his first feature film, Semper Fidel, and Lucia Small and Ed Pincus on their last feature documentary together, One Cut, One Life. Danielle currently works as a director and editor in the Pacific Northwest and enjoys walking in the forest with her husband, Jake and their tiny dog, Kino.
